Teenager charged after police seize two knives in Wolverhampton

A man has been charged after police recovered two knives in Wolverhampton.

Kiaran McCardle, aged 19 and of Vale Street, Wolverhampton, has been charged with having a bladed article in a public place. He is due to appear in court for his next hearing in August.

The arrest came after police stopped a suspected cloned vehicle on The Grove, Wolverhampton on Thursday morning (May 29).

After a foot chase, officers made an arrest and recovered knives.

A police spokesman said: "We take knife crime and carrying a weapon seriously. If you know someone who is carrying a weapon, please call us on 101 to report. You can also talk to us online or report anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
