Man arrested and 200 cannabis plants seized in police raid on 'drugs factory' in Tipton

A man has been arrested and 200 cannabis plants seized after a police raid on a drugs factory inside a house on a quiet, residential Black Country street.

West Midlands Police executed a warrant at a property on Moors Mill Lane, Tipton, in the early hours of Saturday (May 31) and discovered 200 cannabis plants.

A 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis and is currently in custody for questioning.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We've discovered around 200 cannabis plants and made an arrest in Tipton this morning.

"We acted on information and found the drugs factory at an address in Moors Mill Lane at just after 1.40am.

"A 34-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis and is currently in custody for questioning.

"Drugs not only ruin lives, but fuel further crime, and we'll continue to take action to shut down such illegal production."
