I stayed in the new woodland pods at Moddershall Oaks spa - here's what I thought

I was invited to the grand opening and an overnight stay, and it really was the perfect way to unwind and take some time away from the day-to-day rush. 

Nestled amongst the trees just up the country lanes, Moddershall Oaks offers a lovely escape if you're after some rural relaxation - with a few thoughtful touches that could make it even better.

Each pod is named after a native plant or flower and with the wooden exterior, blend in nicely with the surrounding landscape. It's the perfect way to stay immersed in nature, with your modern comforts close at hand. 

All of the pods are set close together, which works really well for group bookings - especially weddings - and creates a sociable, village-like feel.

My friend and I were put up in one of the Family Pods, which includes a double bed and two junior beds tucked away underneath. It’s ideal for a family of four, though it’s worth noting that things feel a little cosy when you're inside.
