Fire service respond to Wolverhampton fire following blaze in kitchen
Emergency services have responded to a blaze at a residential property in Wolverhampton.
West Midlands Fire Service, police and ambulance personnel rushed to the scene of Wood End Road, Wolverhampton, at around 5.05pm on Wednesday to reports of a fire at a property on the road.
Two fire engines and one brigade response vehicle attended the scene, crewed by firefighters from Willenhall and Fallings Park fire stations.

On arrival, emergency services crews discovered a fire in the kitchen and lean-to of one of the properties, with the fire being contained to the kitchen and extension areas.
The fire service said the blaze affected around 80 per cent of the kitchen and extension, with the ground floor of the property also being affected by smoke damage.
A West Midlands Fire Service spokesperson said: "At approximately 5.05pm on Wednesday 28 May, we responded to an incident on Wood End Road, Wolverhampton. This incident involved a fire in the kitchen and lean-to extension of a semi-detached residential property.
"Two fire engines and one Brigade Response Vehicle attended, crewed by firefighters from Willenhall and Fallings Park fire stations. Crews wearing breathing apparatus tackled the fire under stage one procedures and worked quickly to prevent fire spread.
"The fire was contained to the kitchen and extension, which suffered around 80% fire damage."
Following an initial investigation, the fire was determined to have started due to faulty electrics involving the fridge freezer, with no injuries being reported.
The spokesperson added: " It is believed the fire started due to faulty electrics involving a fridge freezer in the lean-to extension.
"There were no injuries reported. Fire crews also checked the neighbouring property using a thermal imaging camera to ensure there had been no fire spread."
