Willenhall community to come together to sing for their church

Parishioners of and visitors to a Willenhall church will be singing to the heavens on Saturday to help raise much needed funds.

A Sing-a-Thon will take place at St Giles Church,  Walsall Street between 2 and 10pm. Regular groups and choirs will be performing as well as individuals and friends of the church.

Organisers are looklng for people to sponsor an individual who is taking part or just to donate via the JustGiving page, with £350 reached of the £2,000 target.

Entry on the day to come and watch or to take part, with  fresh food and drinks available, along with fundraising activities taking place suhc as tombola and a raffle.

Parish spokesperson Lisa Vetere said: "We are calling it Do you hear the Church Sing and it will be a challenging event which will need numbers to sing continuously for eight hours.

"But we aim to make it a celebration of the church and everything it stands for in the community plus to raise much needed funds."
