With the weather looking unsettled across the half term week, families who had planned days out which involved being outdoors might be scrambling around for things to do to keep their youngsters occupied.
While the British weather may put a dampener on activities which involve being outdoors, there are still plenty of indoor venues across the region offering half term fun for families.
We've taken a look across the Black Country, Staffordshire and Wyre Forest and picked out 10 of the best indoor places to take youngsters during half term week.

Royal Air Force Museum Midlands
RAF Cosford, Lysander Avenue, Cosford, Shifnal TF11 8UP

Set across a vast area on the outskirts of Cosford, the museum is free of charge to enter, with a booking required to book a time, and offers a fun and entertaining day for all the family.
Housed in wartime hangars and in the National Cold War Exhibition, there is a huge display of aircraft and exhibits to explore plus an outdoor aviation themed playground for younger visitors to explore.
Other attractions include the Fun ‘n’ Flight area, which offers hands-on experiments that help visitors learn how aircraft fly, such as the 4D Experience, which offers excitement and thrills, and a 3D film such as a ravine race or an intense air fighter training flight accompanied by dynamic seat movements, water spray, leg ticklers and smoke effects.
Dudley Archives and Local History Centre, Tipton Road, Dudley DY1 4SQ

Open from 10am to 4pm from Thursday to Sunday, the Dudley Museum at the Archives has a large number of exhibitions and items on offer.
As well as a selection of fossils and geology displays, other collections include Dudley Castle Finds, the Local Heroes gallery with a small collection of Duncan Edwards memorabilia and local glass and art work from the collection, which includes Dudley landscapes.
The museum also has a number of family-friendly events and activities taking place through the Juniors at Museums and 'Let's do this' Adults in Museums programme.
Richmond Street South, West Bromwich, B70 0DG

For those wanting a more adrenaline-fuelled day out, Boulder Central is offering a chance for youngsters and their families to learn about bouldering, a low-level climbing sport designed to accommodate climbers of all abilities.
The centre is equipped with a gym facility, a range of different climbing areas and a chance to learn a new skill.
It is also dog-friendly and comes with a fully-stocked cafe full of hot food, hot and cold drinks and plenty of sweet items, plus a shop with climbing boots, chalk bags and all kinds of climbing items for those wishing to take it up as a hobby.
Gallery Square, Walsall, WS2 8LG

The New Art Gallery Walsall is home to the Garman Ryan Collection, a unique collection displayed on two floors and consisting of 365 works of art including Sir Jacob Epstein, Van Gogh, Monet, Turner, Renoir, Constable and Freud.
There are also a large range of temporary exhibition galleries offering the very best in contemporary art.
Admission to the gallery is free and there are always events taking place on each floor of the building.
The Close, Lichfield, WS13 7LD

Lichfield Cathedral is the only medieval three-spired Cathedral in the UK, and is one of the oldest places of Christian worship, and the burial place of the great Anglo-Saxon missionary Bishop, St Chad.
It has a rich history, reflected in its architecture and treasures and bursting with art, culture and life.
Among the many nooks and crannies, there are stories to be told, as well as services to observe and a vibrant programme of services, events and art projects to capture the imagination of all ages.

The Retro Realm in Walsall is the first freeplay arcade in the Midlands, working on a pay-to-play admission where people can either book a time slot or an all-day pass to play any of the games, which are set to freeplay with unlimited credits.
There are also monthly membership options available and family and group offers as well.
The Retro Realm has original machines from as far back as 1979 and includes popular classics such as Pac-Man, Street Fighter and Donkey Kong, plus Pinball machines and air hockey tables and a separate diner on site.

The Stour Vale Mill in Kidderminster is home to the only Museum of Carpet in the country.
A centre of heritage, art and industry, the Museum of Carpet has four galleries that celebrate the history of carpet design, the evolution of carpet manufacture and the heritage of those who worked in local industry.
The Museum has two weaving sheds, and four galleries decked out with modern interactives, stunning photographs and immersive videos and people can also try their hand at designing, weaving or exploring Kidderminster’s history, virtually.

Flip Out Sandwell has a range of attractions to keep the whole family entertained all day long, with a huge range of soft play options available.
People can test their skills in the Penalty Shootout Zone, or rush down the Inflatable Slide, while there are trampolines and foam pits for all ages to jump onto, plus bumper cars and drift trikes.
It's a place where youngsters can burn off some energy and adults can have a full workout, all while having fun.

Those who love the ITV show can take on the challenge themselves at the Ninja Warrior UK Adventure Park.
The centre in Walsall offers a supervised activity and fitness venue inspired by the show where people can come and test their Ninja skills while climbing, balancing and swinging across obstacles or bouncing across the inflatable course.
They can also attempt to conquer the famous Warped Wall, Mount Sasuke, and there is also the Mini Ninjas soft play for younger Ninjas.

Come and see the network of underground canal routes that helped form the industrial Black Country and marvel at the Limestone Caverns underneath the earth.
Visitors can take a boat ride along the underground canal network and even take on the activity of legging, the art of making the boat move along the tunnels.
Visitors can look and try to spot any of the limestone fossils remaining from when the area was below sea, and explore the Dudley Tunnel, along with its family of bats.
The Met Office has forecast a mixture of wet and dry days over the rest of half term week, with a dull morning with drizzle in places on Thursday, though turning drier into the afternoon with occasional brighter spells developing and staying breezy and feeling humid.
