Already a mural of footballing superstar Jude Bellingham adorns a wall at the Ryemarket Centre.

Now Pop Will Eat Itself, The Wonderstuff and Ned's Atomic Dustbin who also put the town on the map will receive the same treatment.

It is the brain child partly of professional Stourbridge artist Cal who has been active for 20 years and knows some of the band members personally.

He has already completed the large mural of the log of 'The Poppies' on the wall of Direct2Print Business Centre on Foster Street, an image which is also hanging in a famous London museum - now it is visible to motorists on the ring road.

And he is currently working on The Wonder Stuff creation on The Bridge House community centre opposite the old police station, also visible to ring road motorists
Creations around Ned's Atomic Dustbin, metal band Diamond Head and a certain Robert Plant will get underway in the summer.
Cal, who chooses to just use his first name, is doing the work voluntarily and says it has been a long time coming.

He said; "I don't think we celebrate our heritage enough in this country, not just music and not particularly in Stourbridge, but we need to do more - if it was America there would probably be a festival every year.
"I know Miles and Erica from the Wonderstuff and the idea came from a conversation a few years ago down the pub. But it resurfaced at the end of last year and I thought if anyone is going to do it, it would have to be me.
"I thought to myself, these are people in all three cases who have appeared on Top of the Pops and travelled the world with their music, taking the Stourbridge name with them and selling thousands of records - they are still all playing gigs to a dedicated fan base
"So I went ahead to get the necessary permissions from the bands and artists for the images and Dave Travis the photographer and the owners of the buildings - everyone has been great."
"I have given my time for free but it has been an absolute pleasure and it is a case of taking my time because I am doing something I enjoy immensely and get even more satisfaction out of the fact thousands of people potentially will get to see them.
"The Pop Will Eat Itself guys have already posed for a picture in front of the artwork, I am in the process of finishing off the Wonder Stuff mural, Ned's Atomic Dustbin will follow and Diamondhead and a certain Robert Plant are in the pipeline."
Adam Mole from Pop Will Eat Itself praised Cal's first creation and said they were honoured to be part of the tribute artwork.
He said: "The mural was first produced by The Designers Republic as all our images have been and Dave Travis has been our long term photographer and we thank them both for allowing it to be used by Cal who is a great guy and as much part of the Stourbridge scene as we and the other two were.
"It is a great honour to be immortalised in this way and the results are impressive.
"The image used on the building by the ring road also stands in the Victoria and Albert Museum no less, but now it will be seen by the public in the town where we were formed and that means just as much to us as anything else."
Pop Will Eat Itself release their new single 'Bruiser' on Friday with an album of the same name to follow.
