Shop in Wolverhampton's Mander Centre closed after man suffers 'medical emergency'

A man was treated by paramedics outside a shop in the Mander Centre after reports of a person suffering a medical emergency.

The Jeff Bains store in the centre was closed to the public just after 3.16pm on Tuesday (May 27) following the incident, with a West Midlands Ambulance Service ambulance visible at the entrance of the Mander Centre on Woolpack Alley.

A man was assessed at the scene, but was discharged after opting not to be taken to hospital.

A spokeswoman for the West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called to a medical incident at a public address near Queens Square in Wolverhampton at 3.16pm and sent an ambulance to the scene. 

"On arrival, crews found a man who they assessed. 

"The patient did not wish to be conveyed to hospital and was discharged at the scene.”
