New Walsall mayor's Wembley play-off final good luck message to the Saddlers
Walsall's newly appointed mayor has sent a good luck message to the Saddler ahead of today's League Two play-off final against AFC Wimbledon at Wembley Stadium.

Longstanding councillor Louise Harrison was chosen as the borough's leading citizen for the civic year at a special Mayor Making ceremony at Walsall Council House on May 19. among her first duties has been to wish the Walsall Fotball Club players the best fr the match at Wembley Stadium.
The borough has be abuzz with anticipation since the squad's 2-1 play-off victory over Chesterfield FC at the Poundland Bescot Stadium on May 16 to book their place in the final and a chance to play in League One next season.
Councillor Harrison, who is ward representative for Bloxwich West, said: “On behalf of the residents of Walsall, I would like to wish Walsall FC the very best of luck as they face AFC Wimbledon in the League Two play-off final at Wembley.

The Saddlers have shown real grit to come back from a dip in form earlier this season and make it to the play-off final in style with a double victory over Chesterfield.
“The whole borough is right behind you as you fight for promotion to League One. Your triumph in reaching the play-off final has lifted spirits right across Walsall - it’s brought a real sense of pride and unity to our communities. You’ve reminded us all of what can be achieved through hard work, belief, and working together. Let’s bring League One football home - Up the Saddlers.”
Walsall Council has also been posting 'good luck' messages on roadside digital screens in the area to mark the achievement.
The match is due to start at 3.01pm relating to the British Heart Foundation-led Every Minute Matters campaign which aims to get football fans to learn CPR techniques in case of an emergency during a game.
