As an avid foodie and major chicken fan, I had been waiting for a Popeyes Louisiana Restaurant to open near my hometown of Walsall for years.

Since trying the food chain for the first time in Nottingham a number of years ago, I developed a need for spiced chicken that desperately needed satisfying.

Well, to my (and apparently thousands of others) delight, it finally happened.

Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, more commonly known as 'Popeyes', opened their first Black Country chicken shop in Gallagher Retail Park in Wednesbury on Friday - and I simply had to visit.

Entering the building on the first day of operation, the staff were lovely, 'Welcome to Popeyes' was on everyone's lips, and everyone did indeed feel welcome.

The venue features an orange colour scheme that you often don't see on high streets. It's a quirky pallet that helps the place to stand out among its competitors, almost becoming instantly recognisable.
