Three teens admit roles in violence on city street which left 15-year-old boy with life changing injuries

Three teenagers have admitted their role in violence which saw a 15-year-old boy stabbed.

Just before 1am on November 18 last year, the victim was stabbed in the abdomen near to the junction of Frankley Beeches Road and A38 Bristol Road in Northfield, Birmingham.

The boy was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries but survived. West Midlands Police said he continues to recover from his injuries.

The force's Major Crime Unit launched an investigation and arrested three teenagers in connection with the incident.

Three boys, including two 16-year-olds and a 17-year-old, pleaded guilty to offences at Birmingham Crown Court on Tuesday (May 20).

One 16-year-old boy admitted wounding with intent and possession of a bladed article.

The other 16-year-old boy and the 17-year-old both pleaded guilty to violent disorder and possession of a bladed article.

They will all be sentenced at a later date.

Det Insp Ade George, from the police's Major Crime Team, said: "This is another example of the dangers of carrying a knife.

"This was a very serious attack, and the boy suffered serious injuries but thankfully survived. 

"I hope this will make people aware of the serious consequences of carrying knives."

This week, West Midlands Police is running Operation Sceptre where all 43 forces across England and Wales work to target knife crime with intensified action.
