Thousands of hungry Black Country locals have rushed to Gallager Retail Park in Wednesbury to attend a premier opening day event for the first Popeyes chicken restaurant in the region.
The American food chain specialises in Louisiana-style fried chicken, featuring tender chicken burgers, crispy wings and no end of spicy Cajun-style fries and sides.
The food chain is extremely popular in America, featuring thousands more than 4,000 chicken shops globally with a large percentage of those being in the United States.
However, the chain opened the new store in Gallager Retail Park to critical acclaim, with managers and staff saying that customers were queuing at the doors the night prior.
Store manager, Simon Wood, said: "It's great to be here. I have been with Popeyes for a while now. I used to be at the Nottingham branch.
"We are extremely excited to be here in Wednesbury. It's a great turnout, people are having a really good time and enjoying the food. It's great."
