Daniel Tatters, 26, and Dale Francis, 37, will be sentenced for the murder of Akashdeep Singh, the attempted murders of three of his family and arson with intent to endanger life today (Thursday, May 22).

They were found guilty on Tuesday after a three-week trial which failed to find a concrete motive for the attack at the Singhs' Plascom Road home on June 25.

However, one line of questioning of Tatters when he took the stand to give evidence in his own defence might have shed light on the tragic reason the house was targeted - the culprit got the wrong address.

Tatters was asked if he had set fire to the house by mistake after either being given the wrong address or targeting the wrong house to firebomb.

The murderer refused to comment, maintaining he was at home in Stoke-on-Trent during the entire evening of the crime he was found guilty of.
