Waste plastic caused fire to spread at Cradley Heath recycling premises
A fire at a Cradley Heath recycling yard spread to waste plastic items resulting in workers being evacuated.

Around 20 firefighters tackled the flames and smoke at Plasport Recycling in Cox's Lane this morning.

West Midlands Fire Service stated the crews were called to the scene shortly after 7.30am on Wednesday( 21).

It stated: "Four fire engines from Haden Cross, Brierley Hill, Stourbridge and Dudley stations responded, the first arriving within four minutes of being mobilised.

"This was a fire affecting plastic waste outside a recycling unit. The unit was evacuated as a precaution. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire, which was confirmed to be out shortly before 8.40am."

The service added that no-one was hurt.
