Fire crews contain morning fire at Cradley Heath recycling unit

A small amount of plastic caught fire at Plasport Recycling in Cox's Lane at around 8.15am.

Four crews attended and members of the public were asked to avoid the area. The fire didn't spread to the main body of the factory.

A West Midlands Fire spokesperson said: "Crews from Haden Cross, Brierley Hill, Stourbridge and Dudley have safely extinguished this fire, which was confirmed to be out shortly before 8.40am. 

"The fire affected waste outside a recycling unit, which was evacuated as a precaution. There were no injuries or casualties. "
