The education watchdog visited East Park Academy on Hollington Road last month and found it had maintained the ranking given after its last full inspection in 2019.

In their report, inspectors described the school as "inclusive", saying it had "high ambitions for everyone".

It was praised for supporting pupils to feel "happy, secure and successful" and ensuring they are "well prepared" for secondary school".

Inspectors noted there is "lots going on" for youngsters at East Park Academy, saying it does "much to develop and celebrate everyone’s talents and interests".

Staff were described as having "strong subject knowledge" which they refresh "regularly" with additional training.

The school was also praised for the "range of effective methods" used to promote reading and learning at home.

Pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities were meanwhile said to receive "carefully tailored support".

Overall, Ofsted concluded the school had taken effective action to maintain the standards identified at its last inspection.

Associate headteacher Alan Rogers said: "We are proud to serve this community and deeply proud of everything reflected in the report.

“It stands as a testament to the dedication and hard work of the staff, families and children of East Park.

"We are excited to lead the school into its next chapter and to contribute to the continued momentum and progress in education across Wolverhampton.”

Wolverhampton Council said 97 per cent of schools in the city are currently rated either Good or Outstanding by Ofsted, which is the highest rate ever.

Councillor Jacqui Coogan, cabinet member for children, young people and education, added: "This is an outstanding report which demonstrates the great lengths that East Park Academy goes to in order to give its pupils an excellent and enjoyable education.

"I would like to congratulate everyone at the school on their continuing success."
