Police were called to the skate park on Victoria Street in Hednesford near Cannock at 9.15pm on April 25 following reports of violence.

A man had been assaulted by two other men and his backpack - including his wallet and phone - was stolen, Staffordshire Police said.

His skateboard was snapped in half and he suffered blurred vision in the assault, which saw him "punched and kicked multiple times", the force added.

The victim attended hospital for further treatment for eye and facial injuries.

Staffordshire Police has now appealed for anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area at the time of the incident to come forward.

A force spokesperson said: "Officers are continuing to carry out inquiries locally and are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time of the assault.

"The suspects are described as in their late teens. One offender was wearing a distinctive blue coat.

"They are believed to be part of a group that entered the park, close to the nearby Tesco, prior to the assault."

People with information should call 101 quoting incident number 766 of April 25 or speak to Crimestoppers anonymously by phoning 0800 555 111.
