All lanes reopen on M6 following road traffic collision

All labes of the busy M6 have reopened following a collision near Walsall and Wolverhampton.

Two lanes of the M6, between Junction 10A and Junction 10, were closed following a road traffic collision near Walsall and Wolverhampton

The incident was first reported at 11.49am on Monday, with roads watchdog group West Midlands Roads urging to 'allow extra time' ahead of travelling.

Major disruption was reported as a result of the incident, with road groups warning to plan ahead. 

On X, West Midlands Roads said: "M6 Southbound, J10A (M54) - J10 (A454, Walsall/Wolverhampton). 

"Road traffic collision. Two lanes are currently closed. Allow extra travel time and consider other routes as part of your journey."

All lanes have reopened since the closure, with 'residual delays' remaining while traffic eases. 

A West Midlands Roads spokesperson said: "This incident has now cleared and all lanes are running as normal.

"However, there are still delays as part of the aftermath but expected to clear soon."

Pictures from the scene show the extent of traffic on the route, with vehicles being seen to back up as far as the eye could see. 

It is unknown yet as of the severity of the incident, however, emergency services have been approached for more information.
