Henry continued to shoplift in Rowley Regis, Halesowen and Oldbury, tallying up more than £1,700 of stolen items.

Most of the shops had clear CCTV footage of Henry committing the offences, he was identified and arrested on May 10.

Henry, of Spiral Close in Halesowen, was charged with 11 counts of theft from shops.

He appeared at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court on Monday (May 12) and was sentenced to 22 weeks in prison.

He was also given a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) banning him from entering the supermarket in Rowley Regis for three years.

If he breaches the order he can face a maximum penalty of five years in prison.

Sergeant Jason Walters, from South Sandwell Retail Team said: “We continue to recognise the impact shop theft has on shop workers, businesses and the wider community.

“We therefore remain committed to targeting repeat offenders and protecting those affected.

“I hope his jail sentence and CBO reinforces that we will do everything we can to protect retail workers and improve confidence in our local high streets and town centres.”
