Police carrying out 24-hour crackdown on violent crime in Wolverhampton

Wolverhampton officers will be carrying out swoops at addresses in the city to crackdown on anti-social behaviour, shoplifting and gang activity on Friday.

West Midlands Police will be bringing its Operation Advance to the area for the next 24 hours.

The force-wide operation rotates across  force area and on Friday will see Wolverhampton teams joined by specialist officers drawn for the force. 

Wolverhampton Ch Supt Jenny Skyrme said: "The return of Op Advance is an opportunity for us to further tackle issues that we know impact our communities.

Officers will be tackling issues including organised and violent crime, knife crime, anti-social behaviour and shop thefts across the borough with the help of other agencies.
