Mark Wilkins and Shannon Lester, from Hampton Street, Cannock, said it was a surreal moment when they looked out of their window to find a young man lying on the floor after having been stabbed in the neck only moments before.
It comes after a man in his 20s was horrifically knifed in the neck outside of a One Stop, on Longford Road, near Hampton Street, at around 11.27pm on Tuesday, April 29, with the victim later collapsing outside of Mark and Shannon's home.

"We looked out the window and saw someone lying on the ground and groaning, originally we thought he was drunk - but then we saw the blood", said Mark, a cafe worker.
"When we saw the pool of blood under his head, it just didn't seem real - we didn't think, we just called the ambulance and rushed out."
Mark and Shannon, 21 and 22, were dog-sitting when they saw the injured man who had been stabbed and left for dead. They quickly rushed to aid him in any way they could.

Shannon said: "It's weird because years ago we had both learned some CPR and first aid, but we hadn't ever used it. But it was almost like instinct; we didn't really think about what we were doing, we just did it.
