Police were called to reports of disorder off Wolverhampton Road in the Heath Town area of the city on Wednesday (May 14) afternoon.
Two men received stab wounds and were taken to hospital, West Midlands Police said.
A 17-year-old boy and a 30-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and taken into police custody for questioning.
Following the incident, police were granted Section 60 powers in Heath Town which allows them to stop and search people without the need to have reasonable grounds.

The powers were in place from 7pm on Wednesday until 7am today (Thursday).
A West Midlands Police spokesperson added: "If you have any information on crime involving weapons contact us on Live Chat on our website or call 101."
