The Black Country's top judge Justice Michael Chambers KC reversed his own decision last week and allowed the naming of Daniel Clarke.

The judge made his move this morning (Thursday) at the start of Clarke's sentencing for sexually abusing disabled children in his care at Wolverhampton Crown Court.

The 28-year-old's from Signal Grove, Bloxwich, name had been kept secret at the behest of West Midlands Police and the Crown Prosecution Service.

The police are mounting a mammoth investigation into Clarke's abuse of a possible 81 victims, many believed to be children and disabled, and did not want a future trial to be prejudiced by the public being aware of Clarke already being guilty of abusing disabled children in his care.
