Popeye's Louisiana-style fried chicken restaurant announces open date for Wednesbury drive-thru - and free chicken sandwiches for a year
There will be freebies, merchandise and the tastes of Louisiana-style chicken as Popeyes opens its newest restaurant right in the heart of the Black Country.

Popeyes® UK has announced it will be bringing another taste of its Louisiana-style fried chicken to the West Midlands, with the launch of its new Drive-Thru restaurant at Gallagher Retail Park in Wednesbury.
It will bring 86 new jobs to the local area and plans include one Drive-Thru lane, 94 seats inside, self-service kiosks and collection points for orders made online via the Popeyes UK website or official app.
Opening at 11am on Friday, May 23, it will be a day to celebrate the 83rd Popeyes to open in the UK, with the launch day set to provide giveaways for those in attendance.
On launch day, the first three on foot and the first three cars in the Drive-Thru will also take home free Chicken Sandwiches for a year.
Additionally, the first 25 customers in each queue will be treated to exclusive Popeyes UK merchandise and the first 50 in each queue will bag a free Chicken Sandwich.
With both dine-in and speedy takeaway options available, fried chicken fans across all sites will soon be able to enjoy Popeyes fan-favourites like the Chicken Sandwich, Hot Wings, Tenders, and Signature Chicken Wraps.
All of Popeyes chicken is halal certified and marinated for 12 hours in its signature bold Louisiana seasoning, then hand-breaded and battered for its signature ‘Shatter Crunch’.
The new Saucin’ Boneless and Hot Wings range will also be available, featuring New Orleans-inspired flavours such as cheesy Garlic Parm, bold BBQ, and spicy Buffalo.
Each portion of the Saucin’ range features one of these flavours over either Popeyes signature spicy Hot Wings or all-new boneless chicken breast pieces.
The Popeyes Breakfast menu will be available from the day after launch at all three locations, served daily from 8am to 11am, with fans able to get a Breakfast Meal Deal for just £1.99, featuring the Chicken Brekkie Roll, Cajun Hash Brown and a drink.
