Man and woman injured in Cannock Chase collision - Staffordshire Police make an arrest
A man has been arrested following a collision on a Cannock Chase road which left two people seriously injured and saw a bystander assaulted.

The collision occurred on Marquis Drive in Cannock Chase on Tuesday morning and involved two cars, with a woman and man in one car left with serious injuries.
A member of the public had stopped to help, but was assaulted by the driver of the other car, who was arrested on suspicion of assault thereby occasioning actual bodily harm, failing to provide a specimen for analysis and a public order offence.
The man, a 41-year-old man from Wolverhampton, was further arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker after assaulting an officer while in custody.
Ambulance crews attended the scene alongside officers from Staffordshire Police and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service and treated a man and a woman in the one car.
The man in the car was assessed, but did not want to be taken to hospital and was discharged at the scene, while the woman was taken to New Cross Hospital with injuries which were described as not life-threatening or life-changing, but which would require a significant period of recovery.
The member of the public was also treated for injuries not believed to be serious and was taken to hospital for further treatment.
Staffordshire Police arrest man following Cannock Chase collision
Staffordshire Police have appealed for anyone with any information about the collision to get in touch.
A spokesman for Staffordshire Police said: "A man has been arrested following a collision and an assault in Cannock Chase.
"Officers were called to Marquis Drive at about 7.15am yesterday morning (Tuesday 13 May) to reports of a collision between two cars.
"One of the drivers got out and assaulted a member of the public who had stopped to help. The man who was assaulted was taken to hospital and was treated for his injuries which were not serious.
"We went to the scene with colleagues from West Midlands Ambulance Service and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service.
"A man and a woman, who were in the other car, were both assessed by ambulance crews at the scene. The woman was taken to hospital and both of their injuries aren’t thought to be life-threatening or life-changing at this time, but will involve a significant period of recovery.
"A 41-year-old man, from Wolverhampton, was arrested on suspicion of assault thereby occasioning actual bodily harm, failing to provide a specimen for analysis and a public order offence.
"While in custody, the man assaulted an officer. Thankfully, the officer’s injuries were not deemed serious.
"The man was further arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker. He remains in custody.

West Midlands Ambulance Service responds to Cannock Chase collision
A spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of an RTC on Marquis Drive in Cannock at 7.12am.
"Three ambulances were sent to the scene where, on arrival, crews discovered two cars had been involved in a collision.
"A man and woman from one car were treated for potentially serious injuries.
"The woman was conveyed to New Cross Hospital whilst the man did not wish to be conveyed and was discharged at the scene.
"A man from the second car was treated for injuries not believed to be serious and conveyed to Walsall Manor Hospital.
"A fourth patient, a man, who was a bystander, was treated for injuries not believed to be serious and taken to hospital for further treatment."
