Man, 44, charged with 14 thefts of goods from shops in Wolverhampton

A man is due to appear in court to face 14 charges of theft after goods of over £1,200 were taken from stores across the region.

Michael Palmer, 44, is due to appear at Wolverhamtpon Magistrates Court today to face 14 counts of shop theft after items were stolen from three difference Wolverhampton stores last month. 

The items were taken from the shelves of shops in Claregate, Oxley and Fordhouses between march 29 and May 9, with the goods equalling around £1,200 in total.

Officers from the Low Hill neighbourhood team arrested the man yesterday on suspicion of theft. 

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "Identifying and detaining criminals who target our shops and stores is a priority for our teams as we know these crimes can really impact our local businesses and communities.
