Driver cut out of overturned car after crash on Stourbridge road

A man had to be cut out of his car after it ended up on its side on a busy Stourbridge road.

Emergency service crews were called shortly before 10.20pm on Monday (May 12) to South Road, Stourbridge, where they found a car that had come to rest on its side. 

The incident happened near the Old White Horse pub, with South Road being closed off to drivers. 

Two fire engines from Stourbridge and Brierley Hill stations responded, the first arriving within three minutes of being mobilised.

A man was freed from the vehicle by West Midlands Fire Service firefighters, who used small tools to release him.

Crews administered first aid and handed the casualty to paramedics when they arrived.

West Midlands Police officers assisted with vehicle recovery before the fire service left the scene shortly after 10.50pm.
