Fire crews tackle blaze in bedroom in Dudley house

Fire crews from across the Black Country were called into action to tackle a blaze which had broken out in a bedroom.

The crews from Dudley, Brierley Hill, Tipton and Bilston were called to reports of a fire at a house on Hillcrest in Lower Gornal at around 7.45am on Monday.

Four engines attended the scene and found a fire which had broken out on the first floor of a two-storey property.

They used breathing apparatus to enter the house and tackle the fire, with all occupants accounted for from the house and no casualties or injuries reported, and the crews left the scene at 12.27pm.

A spokesman for West Midlands Fire Service said: "Shortly after 7.45am on Monday (12 May), we responded to Hillcrest, Dudley.

"Four fire engines from Dudley, Brierley Hill, Tipton and Bilston attended, arriving to find a fire in a two-storey property.

"Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the house and extinguished the fire.

"Everyone was accounted for, and there were no casualties or injuries.

"After scaling down our resources, we left the scene at 12.27pm."
