Muhammed Ali, aged 48, pushed the woman onto a bed at the Walsall property before putting his hands around her neck and squeezing, Wolverhampton Crown Court heard.

Mr Robert Cowley, prosecuting, said the incident happened when the defendant returned home from work on February 19, 2023 and discovered a wardrobe had been painted.

"That angered him," Mr Cowley said.

He said that Ali "pointed a finger very close" to the victim's face and when she pushed his hand away "that inflamed him".
