Government figures revealing the level of obesity across England have placed Walsall among the regions most afflicted by adult obesity.
The figures, published by the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities, revealed that Walsall sits among 44 local authorities nationally where at least 33.3 per cent of adults were likely to be obese in 2023/24.
The figures also revealed that Walsall, with a percentage of 36.2, was among the West Midlands areas most impacted by obesity, and worst in the Black Country.
Now, Walsall Council has said that support is in place for those looking to live a healthier lifestyle, going on to encourage residents to take advantage of the range of activities on offer.

A spokesperson for Walsall Council said: "We understand our local challenges and the national obesity challenge for both children and adults. Our ambition is to ensure people are healthy and live full and active lives by creating a healthy environment and providing opportunities for residents and communities to eat well and move more.
