West Midlands Fire Service said due to the severe damage caused at the property in Walsall Wood Road in Aldridge near Walsall it was unable to "rule out all other potential accidental causes".

Emma and Jon Logan's "forever home" was wrecked by flames and smoke on April 30 while the couple were at work and their four children at school.

The family believe that the toy which was under their 11-year-old daughter's bed in the loft, burst into flames after getting too warm during recent hot weather.

The brigade said: " Shortly before 12.15pm on April 30 we responded to Walsall Wood Road.  Four fire engines from Walsall, Bloxwich, Willenhall and Erdington attended, arriving to find a fire in a three-storey house.
