West Midlands Metro passengers facing delays due to overhead line issues affecting services between Wolverhampton and Birmingham

Metro passengers are facing a morning of disruption after it was reported that no services were running due to an overhead lines issue.

West Midlands Metro put out a message on social media to inform passengers that no services were running between Wolverhampton and Birmingham due to issues with the overhead lines.

It said that while no services were able to run between Wolverhampton Station and Edgbaston Village, tickets and passes would be accepted on West Midlands Railway services and on National Express bus services 74 and 79 between Wolverhampton and Birmingham.

A spokesman for West Midlands Metro said: "Due to issues with overhead lines, there is no services between Wolverhampton and Birmingham. 

"Trams are unable to operate between Wolverhampton Station and Edgbaston Village,.

"Ticket acceptance in place with West Midlands Railway between Wolverhampton and Birmingham. 

"Ticket acceptance in place with National Express West Midlands for 74 and 79 buses between Wolverhampton and Birmingham."

Yesterday there were delays on the tram service traffic queues after a police incident was reported near Wolverhampton Railway Station in Railway Drive.
