The collision on Willenhall Road in Wolverhampton happened at around 1.45pm and involved two parked cars, a lorry and a learner bus.

All four vehicles were left with varying states of damage, with the lorry the worst damaged after having left the road and hitting a tree, which seriously damaged the cab of the lorry and uprooted the tree, while debris could be found all over the road.

The road was left blocked following the incident, with ambulances from West Midlands Ambulance Service, fire crews from Fallings Park and Bilston and officers from West Midlands Police all called to the scene.

The fire crews helped to assist the driver of the lorry from his vehicle, who was treated by ambulance crews after being told he had suffered a suspected medical episode before the collision.

He was taken to New Cross Hospital for further assessment after receiving treatment at the scene, while no other injuries were reported.

The fire crews worked to make the four vehicles safe, including removing the two cars from the scene, while the recovery of the bus and lorry were left with the police to organise.
