The case relates to a 15-year-old boy being was sexually assaulted by Damien Gloster on board a train service between Barnt Green and Selly Oak on May 11 last year. Then a 16-year-old boy who was targeted by Gloster while trainspotting at Northfield station on July 16 also last year.
Birmingham Crown Court was told that Gloster enticed him into a woodland area where he sexually assaulted him. He was arrested and charged after the incidents were reported to British Transport Police which carried out an investigation.
The force said on sentencing, the Judge described Gloster , aged 40, as a "dangerous and predatory" sex offender.

DC Karl Byrne, of the transport police, said: “Gloster is a callous predator who deliberately targeted and exploited young boys for his own sexual gratification.
"The two boys were so brave with their support to the investigation and I really hope that they, and their families, can take some reassurance knowing he’ll be locked up for the foreseeable future.
"There is zero-tolerance for sexual offences on the rail network and we will do everything in our power to bring offenders like Gloster to justice. I’d encourage everyone to save 61016 in their phones and let us know if you ever witness or experience sexual offending. We will always act and we will always take you seriously.”
Gloster, of no fixed address, was found guilty by a jury of two counts of sexual assault on a male following a trial in February and was sentenced on Wednesday(May 7) to seven years in prison, extended by a further three years.
In addition to this he will have a life-long signature on the Sex Offenders' Register.
