Despite being repeatedly arrested for attacking and threatening his terrified ex-partner, Imran Rafiq, 42, would be released—only to resume his menacing threats within hours.
The 42-year-old used social media platforms TikTok and Facebook Messenger to record vile videos in which he promised to end her life, kidnap her child, and blow up her Walsall home.
Rafiq, formerly of Walsall and now of Roland Road, Leeds, even continued his "campaign of hate" after entering a relationship with another woman.
His brave victim used Rafiq’s own voice notes and videos as evidence when she reported him to the police.
However, rather than taking the investigation as a warning, Rafiq began intimidating the woman further in an attempt to get her to withdraw her complaint. He again sent threatening messages—this time vowing to disfigure her face by throwing acid on her.
