Police have issued a statement after the death of a man near Newport.

Officers were called to Chetwynd Road in Edgmond near Newport at around 12.40pm today after reports of "concerns for safety".
Emergency services attended the scene where a man in his 70s was pronounced deceased.
West Mercia Police said the death is not being treated as suspicious.
Police presence was seen in the area today and residents have been told to expect this to continue.
A spokesperson said: "Officers attended Chetwynd Road in Edgmond, near Newport at around 12.40pm today (Sunday, May 4) following a report of concern for safety.
"Emergency services attended the scene where a man, aged in his 70s, was pronounced deaceased.
"People may see an increase in police presence in the area as enquiries are carried out.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious."
