The Conservatives, who have controlled Staffordshire since 2009 have been ousted as Reform took to social media to declare the victory. Reform won 49 out of 62 seats having previously never winning a single seat in the county. The Tories won 10 after previously holding 53.
Meanwhile Labour, Greens and Stafford Borough Independents won one seat each.
Reform's Staffordshire organiser Martin Murray said: "I thank each and every candidate for their willingness to stand up and take part in the democratic process, and all those who have worked to make these elections happen.
"It is humbling to have voters place their trust in us and I can promise that we will work hard delivering essential services for residents while focusing on the future.”
The county council's chief executive and returning officer Pat Flaherty said: "Staffordshire County Council’s annual budget is more than £700 million and our work touches everyone’s life in one way or another.
"It’s vital that local people debate local issues and determine how the county council goes about its business, so I was very pleased to see every seat contested by multiple candidates and I thank them all for their time, effort and commitment to the democratic process.”
The swing towards Reform UK in the county is mirroring the national picture today - the party took the Runcorn and Helsby seat in a tight battle with Labour and former Tory MP Dame Andrea Jenkyns becoming Reform UK's first mayor in Greater Lincolnshire, taking 42 per cent of the vote.

The Conservatives claiming election victories in 2013, 2017 and 2021, and entered this election holding 53 seats, with five for Labour and four for independent councillors.
In total 298 candidates stood in the 62 Staffordshire divisions incorporating Stafford, South Staffordshire, Cannock Chase, Lichfield, Burton uponTrent and Tamworth.
