The day ended with Reform firmly in control of Staffordshire Country Council.

With 32 seats needed for a majority, Reform UK won 49, compared to the Conservative Party’s 10, with three seats for other parties.

As the results across the country started to filter in, the mood among Reform members was jubilant, with Stafford county coordinator and Cannock town winner Martin Murray saying the success of the party reflected the national mood towards the two main parties.
