The dog has been given his very own membership number and pendant by members of Tettenhall Rotary Club.

The specialist hearing dog comes to meetings with his owner, Phil Griffin.

Phil is profoundly deaf himself and wears a bone anchored hearing aid, but Rolo is essential for his safety.

Phil is a volunteer with the Hearing Dogs for Deaf People charity and at a meeting of Tettenhall Rotary Club he was presented with his Rotary membership pin by club president Mark Heywood while Rolo was presented with a Companion of Honour pendant to wear on his collar.

Phil said he is enjoying getting involved in the club and that Rolo has settled in perfectly.

He said: ‘I am really enjoying the fellowship of the club. They are so welcoming to people of diverse backgrounds and abilities."
