Cannock stabbing: Investigation continues as man remains in critical condition
Police are continuing to investigate an incident where a man sustained severe stab wounds in a residential area in Cannock.

Staffordshire Police are continuing to appeal for information following an incident in Hampton Street, Cannock on Tuesday night.
The incident saw a man, who is believed to have been seen outside of the One Stop on Longford Road shortly before he suffered a serious injury to his neck.
The man was quickly tended to by West Midlands Ambulance Service paramedics before being transported to hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

A major investigation was quickly launched into the incident, with a cordon being placed on both Longford Road and the adjoining Hampton Street overnight, before being reduced to just Hampton Street, and then lifted completely at around 1pm on Wednesday.
Now, police Staffordshire Police have said that 'no arrests have been made' at this stage and that they are continuing to appeal for information into the incident.

Launching the appeal at the time of the incident, a Staffordshire Police spokesperson said: "Detectives have been trawling CCTV and speaking to people in the area to find out more about what happened to the man.
“We understand the man was spotted outside One Stop on Longford Road shortly before he suffered the injury and a cordon has been put in place while initial enquiries continue in the area.
“We are keeping an open mind and we’re keen to speak to people who might be able to help."
