Walsall man pleads not guilty to nine year campaign of controlling behaviour and strangling woman

A Walsall man has denied subjecting his former partner to almost a decade of violent controlling behaviour including strangling her.

Marius Sturza, from Prince Street, Walsall, appeared at Wolverhampton Crown Court charged with three offences concerning the same woman. 

Sturza, who entered the dock with crutches, needed a Romanian interpreter to answer the charges. 

The 49-year-old pleaded not guilty to threatening the woman with a knife at a Wolverhampton property on February 7, this year.
