Rail delays between Lichfield and Aston after lorry crashes into bridge

West Midlands Railway said some services may be delayed or cancelled due to a lorry colliding with a bridge between Lichfield Trent Valley and Aston.
The incident was first reported at around 10.42am, with the rail group saying that ticket acceptance had been put into place.
Train services running through the two stations were cancelled or delayed due to the incident, but it has since been cleared.
West Midlands Railway said earlier on its website: "Due to a lorry colliding with a bridge between Lichfield Trent Valley and Aston the line is blocked.
"Train services running through these stations may be cancelled or delayed. Disruption is expected to last until around 12:00 today."
The group added that those whose journeys are delayed by 15 minutes or more can claim compensation.
The group said: "If your train is late by 15 minutes or more, you can claim compensation. Hold onto your ticket and claim within 28 days."
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called to reports of a lorry that had crashed into a bridge near to the junction of South Road and Summer Road in Erdington at 10.18am, one ambulance attended the scene. On arrival we discovered one patient, a man. He was assessed and treated for minor injuries before being discharged at the scene."
