Wolves Foundation and Compton Care are hosting the drop-in session at 6pm on Wednesday, May 7, at Molineux Stadium for anyone thinking of taking on the unique challenge of climbing the Yorkshire Three Peaks.
Wolves Foundation and Compton Care have partnered up to encourage a team of ‘Hiking Heroes’ to take part in this inspiring hike.
The challenge takes place on Saturday, June 14 and is a 24-mile circular route challenge, which is being led by the Sky Blue Adventures team and will start at 7am with the first climb of the day on Pen y Ghent, followed by scaling Whernside, and then the last climb of the day, Ingleborough.
Fundraising from the challenge will be shared equally between Compton Care, which provides specialist palliative and bereavement support to people with life limiting conditions and their families, and Wolves Foundation, Wolves’ official charity, which delivers more than 45 unique projects to people of all ages and abilities in the aim of creating opportunities and changing lives.
Wolves Foundation's Fundraising and events executive Laura Cahill said: “This session is a great way to start encouraging that sense of team spirit and togetherness which is always such an important part of the challenge.
“It will be great to meet this year’s Hiking Heroes team for the first time, but also hopefully encourage a few people who are thinking about taking part to come along and see what it’s all about.”
Lee Newman, head of fundraising at Compton Care, said: “We are really excited to have set up this drop-in session for anyone who has already signed up or is thinking about signing up for the hike.
"The event will allow us to give an overview of the activity and for those interested in taking part an opportunity to hear from past Hiking Heroes about what to expect from the challenge.”
