Tears were shed when Goscote Greenacres, Goscote Lane, Walsall, announced its possible closure after falling victim to the cost of living crisis, potentially ending decades of service to the region's gardening community.
However, in an event likened to a 'phoenix rising' the community garden is back and all prepared to host its annual May Bank Holiday Plant Sale on Monday, May 5.
The sale will give visitors plenty of chances to buy beautiful potted flowers and various other plants, as well as give their thoughts on the future direction of the community garden.

Ray Dolan, vice chair at Goscote Greenacres, said: "Everyone is welcome! We have some beautiful plants, we have pansies and petunias, and all manner of different plants to enjoy.
"We also have some brilliant cucumbers and other vegetables for sale at a really good price, so please come down and join us."
On Facebook, the community garden reaffirmed that it isn't yet closing, but instead restructuring and looking at a future direction for the venue.
Ray said: "I'd also like to thank everyone from Goscote Greenacres who have worked so hard to get this up and running again. It's like a phoenix rising.
"Also thank you to Walsall Council for their huge amount of magnificent support, and also Urban Hax, who supported us and produced the poster. Thank you, everyone."
The May Bank holiday Plant Sale runs from 12.30pm to 3.30pm, everyone is also invited to the group's consultation table, where you can have your input on the future of the garden.
