Arrest after teenagers attacked by group in Wolverhampton park

A 16-year-old has been arrested after two other teenagers were assaulted in  Wednesfield Park and a mobile phone stolen.

West Midlands Police has launched an appeal for information following the incident which happened on April 15 at around 4.10pm when two teenage boys were approached by a group wearing face coverings.

Officers said it is believed that one person in the group had a knife.

The force said both victims were assaulted but their injuries were not believed to be life changing or threatening. It said a mobile phone belonging to one of the victims was also stolen.

As part of the probe officers have made CCTV inquiries and also recovered the stolen phone.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of threatening a person with a blade in a public place and wounding and has since been released on bail pending further inquiries.
