Abbi Dixon, 36, is charged with maliciously wounding another woman without intent on September 2, 2024, in Wolverhampton.

Dixon, of Harper Avenue, will now face trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court in April 2027. The trial will last three days.

Visibly upset about the proceedings Dixon only spoke to confirm her name and address and to plead not guilty to the charge.

Prosecutor Mr Phillip Brunt said: "There will need to be special arrangements made for the witnesses in this trial. Especially as one of the witnesses is a child."

Recorder Imran Shafi KC granted the special requirements needed for the witness.

He told Dixon: "Unfortunately due to the backlog in the court system the next available for your trial will be in April 19, 2027. I apologise you will have to wait this long for the trial but this is the way it is  now."

He added: "You will need to keep in touch with your solicitors in the mean time because you need to set out a defence statement which will be used in your trial.

"You need to attend your trial too as it will go ahead in your absence."

Dixon was given unconditional bail, however, told she must return to court for a pre-trial hearing in March.

As Dixon is charged with malicious wounding without intent the maximum sentence is five years.
