Police appeal after attempted robbery in Birmingham

An appeal for information to identity a man has been launched after an attempted robbery in Aston.

West Midlands Police has launched the appeal and released an image of a man who it said it wanted to speak to following the attempted robbery on February 11.

The incident saw a woman go to withdraw money from a cash point on Aston Lane and a man then subsequently tried to take it from her hands, leading to injuries including cuts and a broken finger.

The force said the incident ended when the man ran off after a member of the public intervened and has asked for anyone with any information about the identity of the man to get in touch as soon as possible.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We would like to speak to this man following an attempted robbery in Aston.

"A woman had gone to withdraw money from a cash point on Aston Lane when a man tried to take the money from her hands.

"This led to injuries to her hands including cuts and a broken finger.

"He ran off when a member of the public intervened. The incident took place on February 11.
