Delays on M6 near Walsall after broken down lorry leaves two lanes closed

Motorists heading down the M6 have been left facing delays after two lanes were left closed due to a broken down lorry.

National Highways put out a message on social media to inform drivers on the southbound carriageway of the M6 of the incident, which happened near Junction 10 for Wolverhampton and Walsall.

The breakdown has left two lanes closed and delays of up to 45 minutes for drivers, with an image from the scene showing about five miles of congestion on the approach.

A spokesman for National Highways said: "Two lanes of four are closed on the M6 south within junction 10 for Wolverhampton and Walsall due to a broken down lorry. 

"Specialist recovery is on scene. 

"Delays of up to 45 minutes and approximately 5 miles congestion on approach."
