Aldi vs Lidl: Which has more stores in your area? See our full list of Black Country shops

To the uninitiated, Aldi and Lidl may seem very similar: they are both supermarkets that offer a quality range of goods for discounted prices that prove usually hard to beat for their competitors. 

Both are German discount retailers, featuring a similar colour scheme and arguably similar logos, so much so that a popular rumour spread that the companies were actually started by two brothers who had a family feud and eventually parted ways.

While the age-old rumour has been proven to be untrue, the British love for both discount retailers is completely verified. 

Millions of Brits shop at either or each of the retailers each and every year, with stores from both parties opening at a lightning rate.

In March, Aldi was given the green light for a new Walsall supermarket, creating 50 new jobs for the region, while Lidl announced plans for a new location at the former site of FA Gills abattoir on Parkfield Road, Wolverhampton.

And while they may seem similar, to their loyal shoppers they couldn't be more different.  

So that led us to ask the question, which company loves the Black Country more?
