Wanted man is caught on M6 driving van with expired driving licence and no insurance

A van driver was arrested after a police stop on the M6 found he was wanted by police - and without a valid licence or insurance.

The Ford van was stopped on the M6 at Hilton Park Services by officers from Staffordshire Police's Road Crime team.

Checks by officers found that the driver was wanted by West Midlands Police for failing to appear at court, as well as having an expired driving licence and no valid insurance.

The driver was arrested at the scene and the van was seized by officers.

A spokesman for Staffordshire Police Road Crime Team said: "This Ford was sighted in the Cannock Police area and was stopped on the M6 at Hilton. 

"The driver was wanted by West Midlands Police for failing to appear at court. 

"The driver also had an expired driving licence and no insurance. 

"Driver arrested and Ford seized."
